12th in the series, but probably easy to pick up for a new reader. It's an easy read and I whipped right through it. No real surprises, the murder back in Colleton County went exactly where I thought it would and the solution to Joanna's death is also easy to guess. I really enjoyed how Deborah found Cal even though I guessed where he would be. But there are some definite eye-roll moments. They're trying to trace the murdered woman's movements and find out who she saw last - and Deborah sees dark hair on the sofa-bed's sheets. Does she say "OMG I found a clue!" No, she washes the sheets. C'mon. Twice someone comes into the house while they're sleeping, rummages around and takes stuff, and they don't wake up? Hmmm maybe other people sleep better than I do when they're in a strange place and desperately worried. But there's something to be siad for familiarity, I'm happy enough to give them a pass and go on to the next book.
