A nice, upbeat book. A great book for those pre-teens...especially girls.
Three children, Sorrel, Mark and holly, have lost their mother, and their father has gone missing in the war. So they are sent off to live with their grandmother, who is a famous English stage actress. Much to their chagrin, she sends them to an academy for acting, singing and dancing. It tells of some of the hardships of the war, but stays positive throughout.
On some books on tape, I feel they miss the mark on who they use to read it, but not with this one. I feel Elizabeth Sastre was perfect for the part!
