I absolutely loved this book. The setting is Nashville at the beginning of the Civil Rights movement and during the Vietnam War. Gilmore handled the race issues with a great deal of sensitivity and depth. The characters are a mixture of flawed, engaging, and wonderful.I really loved the main character, Bezellia. The book from start to finish did not disappoint. I did not want it to end. It was both heart wrenching and heart warming. Another great one by Gilmore.
