Police Chief Josie Quinn is called out to investigate an attack. Misty Derossi, the stripper who had an affair with Josie's late husband, has been severely beaten and left for dead. She was found in her home in grave condition. Her newborn son is missing. Josie believes whoever tried to kill Misty took the baby.

After a long day of searching for the missing child, Josie discovers that her fiancé, Luke, is also missing. There is a pool of blood in his kitchen where there is evidence of a struggle. As the search for Luke begins, Josie finds a woman fleeing the scene. This woman doesn't know her name or how she came to be at Luke's house. Josie needs to figure out if she knows anything about Luke's disappearance.

The second book in the Josie Quinn series kept me glued to the pages. This story had lots of twists and turns. I never knew what Josie and her team would find next. This is a fast-paced book with edge-of-your-seat suspense. I can't wait for the next book. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
