I'm a character driven reader most of all and I loved the main character. David is funny and brave and smart and bent on revenge. He was in a bank as a young child with his dad when Steelheart, an Epic with powers, decided he would rule the area as emperor and killed a everyone in the bank--except for David, who 'fell through the cracks so to speak. The world changed, and David worked in a factory and studied the Epics and kept track of them and everything he could learn about them. One thing he learned about was a group, called the Reckaners, who rebelled against the Epics and took some of the lesser Epics down. His goal was to join them, and eventually he did. This is the story of how they took down Steelheart. Good story and good characters. I'll read the next and recommend to my book club.
