I had a hard time deciding if I liked this book or not. Here is a quote that might summarize it all: "Is this going to be another chat where you feed me a line of BS until you think I'm placated, then I fall into your arms and we have sex?" There, I've saved you money and you've read 3/4 of the book.
I think the biggest problem I have was that the characters were really dumb and not consistent. Dalton was such a girlie girl with his back and forth "Should I be with Isabelle" conflict. Isabelle was a little weak and not very perceptive. Come on, you know your man isn't human if he can heal from a laser wound the size of Texas in half an hour. No matter how good you are in bed he isn't supposed to literally glow afterwards. Even with all that, when Dalton confesses that he isn't human Isabelle still acts stunned and said, "You are not?" And to my other point, the dialogue was really bad.
Mandy and Michael's relationship was nice but resolved rather quickly. Mandy was really annoying in the beginning but she is supposed to be really young. So I can forgive that. They never did address Mandy's PTSD which makes me think less of Michael as a leader.
Even with all that, it was an okay read. I'm not sure if I am motivated enough to continue on with the series though. Definitely not worth using up a credit or spending real money on it.
