This was clever and well written but quite sick and twisted. I do recommend the audiobook. Those diary parts done by the serial killer were so creepy. I didn't find it scary because it was a bit over the top but I understand where so many would find it scary. I can say that the identity of the serial killer was shocking to me. I read mostly thrillers and I am always looking for the twist however this one really got me. It was a complete surprise and I never even considered it. I will read the next one but not right away. I think I need something a little lighter before diving back into this dark world.
