Book two of the Ozark fantasy trilogy, in which Responsible of Brightwater tries to get the Grannies, the Magicians, and the delegates of the Twelve Families of Ozark together for the first Grand Jubilee of the Confederation of Continents in 500 years. While fighting the usual resistance to the token centralization of the Confederation, finding good help to staff the Castle, and protecting the native intelligent species from treaty violations and encroachment, she also has to contend with handsome young Lewis Motley Wommack the 33rd, who is determined to use his amorous tricks to ferret out her Magic.
