Premise of the story was enough to keep me reading, although I considered putting it down throughout the first half. Each chapter is written in a different voice and one is in the third person. I found this extremely annoying and stilted. "you", "you", no I am not there, nor did it make me feel as though I was there. The reporter is repeatedly talking about every woman's ass. Okay, I get it, he is a dog and we are not supposed to like him, a bit of subtlety would have gone a long ways. For someone with two masters degrees and Bohjalian as one of his first readers, I expected the story to flow better.
