I raced through this one, loving all the characters, finding the story totally believable and wondering how the author was going to end it in a way that wasn't horribly sad. Well, she succeeded. The book is equally worthy of a reading group and solitary reading. These include inept mothering, abandonment, 70s-era hippiedom, bullying, sexual violence, race relations and the South Highly recommended!
