PROS: CHARACTERS
In my opinion, this is one of the best books in the Lords of Satyr series. The characters are the most three dimensional of series, with the unfortunate exception of the villians.
Dane is the most complex of the heroes. I applaud Elizabeth Amber for the bold decision of featuring a hero with multiple personality disorder. And our man Dane is definitely busy. He's dealing with his mental instability, guilt over the disappearance of his younger brother, and attempting to reconnect with his older brothers after a prolonged separation. To top that off, he has concocted a plan to wed and produce an heir to avoid returning to the Elseworld job he abandoned. Like I said, he's a busy man.
Eva is also an interesting character as well. As the only female Satyr, she fears the consequences of discovery and is desparately attempting to find her true nature. I must say that I adored her small wards (what can I say, I like kids in a story) and took an instant dislike to the female servant.

CONS: DEJA VU
While it has been a significant amount of time since I read the other books in this series, I often felt a sense of deja vu while reading the novel. I kept thinking to myself, "Didn't this happen in one of the other books?" This was particularly noticeable in the characterization of the the villians.

OVERALL: It's a pretty good read and as it works very well as a stand alone, you needn't read all the previous installments to enjoy this one. I noticed that this is the start of a new triology. It think it would be rather disappointing as I would like to see a story for the youngest brother, who I would be very interested in seeing as a hero to his own story.
