My favorite author is Adriana Trigiani. And on her official website, she sometimes posts her favorite books. This was one of them. And so I looked for and found it here on PBS and ordered it. And I'm so glad that I did!
I loved this story! Mia Saul's husband left her for an Oriental woman that he meets in his travels as a documentary filmmaker, leaving her and their 10 year old daughter to fend for themselves. She loses her job, her daughter begins acting out in school, and her entire life is depressing. One day, after accidentally leaving a bag of groceries on the ground in front of her daughter's school, she goes back to her bank's ATM machine where, instead of handing her the $100 she attempts to withdraw, the machine starts spitting out thousands of dollars (with the receipt only reading $100). For Mia, what follows is quite an adventure. (I almost didn't re-post this book because I enjoyed it so much!).
