This is an in depth interesting book about the events of the Italian Renaissance during the reign of the Medici family. Mona Lisa, who was indeed a real person, becomes witness and perhaps participant to, an era of swift religious and social changes in Florence. Her friendship with Leonardo Da Vinci and acquaintance with several other famous artists and historic figures make for a fascinating read.
