This is a Maggie O'Dell book. Her friend, psychologist Dr. Gwen Patterson calls her when one of her patients goes missing on a trip to Connecticut. The body of a woman is soon found in a rock quarry and O'Dell is drawn into the case. Then, more bodies are found.
