Asuper fun Crusie book. I really like the characters, they are troubled and beautiful in the usual Crusie way. A funny book is hard to write, but Crusie does it with style. I wish I could speak as quick-witted as Min, if she were a person, I want her as a friend. Near the top of my list of her books, happily read again and again.
Minerva Dobbs, confident enough to let her last breakup go without a fight (he deserved, it the bum), is nonetheless self-conscious about her 'zaftig' figure. Cal Morrisey is confident in his abilities to bet to win, but smart enough to not take a bad bet. When they meet and sparks fly and they gamble on each other, all bets are off.
