A great tale of Goodman's experience of growing a garden in the south of France; his challenges, his triumphs. He writes well of his experiences he & his Dutch mate encounter with the village people of St. Sebastien.
First, overcoming the challenge of making friendships, his first friendship with Jules. The couple experience winter in southern France, then the blooming of the apricot trees in the spring.
Goodman dreams of a garden. He finds a plot & goes to work. A garden is born after many hours of digging & work.
The book is a great, easy read. Any gardener will enjoy the book. Even if a person isn't a gardener, the reader can enjoy the stories shared by the writer. There is the appearance of perfectly red tomatoes on his plants at exactly the same location. A mystery of sorts. Read on....
