this is the second book in the trilogy libba bray has written. the first book "a great and terrible beauty" was exciting and i couldn't put it down. so read the first book to enjoy and understand the second. i know you'll enjoy reading this book as well as the others by libba bray. the main character emma is on a mystical quest and fantasy while growing up and understanding her powers.
