ISBN 1887942394 - This book is almost exactly the same book as ISBN 1887942378 Slam & Dunk Go to the Moon (Slam & Dunk HOP Books, Book 16), right down to Mom's response when the kids ask her permission to go someplace. For lack of originality, one deserved fewer stars than the other, and this one just happened to be later in the series.

Skip and Spin play on the beach until they find a magic seashell. When they rub it, a dolphin appears and invites them to swim with him. The kids get permission and join Flip-Flop under the sea.

In the other books, it's Slam and Dunk; here it's Skip and Spin. The other, Moon Man; here, Flip-Flop. The other, Mom says be home by six; here, Mom says be back by sunset. The other, they go up-up-up; here, they go down-down-down. The in-house team that writes as Chris Sawyer gets an F for not remembering that they told this story already OR for remembering but being too lazy to come up with a new one. Illustrator Dennis Hockerman saves the book with vibrant, super-colorful images of ocean life. I would buy this one, or the other one, but I fail to see any need to own both, unless you've gotten them as part of a set.
