Once again, Tom Wood demonstrates his expertise and artistry by making us develop empathy for his main character, Victor. Victor is an amoral man who kills without remorse. Yes, Victor normally kills only those who are trying to kill him or those who he is paid to assassinate, but he never feels any pangs of conscience or other after effects.

Wood writes well enough that, when I am engrossed in his books, time passes quickly. Although each book is part of a series, I think there is enough meat in them that they can be read as stand alone novels. Another series of books that I highly recommend.
