I almost put this book down because the first 50 or so pages were really hard to get through. Knowing I had almost 700 pages to read suddenly looked impossible. Combine heavy detail of financial and legalese with lots of characters / places with foreign-sounding names and I felt really lost for awhile. I ended up skimming over some of the stuff and finally waded through it to get to the "real" story.

I'm glad I didn't put it down!! This mammoth book was like a puzzle being put together one piece at a time. You don't necessarily know how the pieces are going to fit together, but when they do (one piece at a time) you get a nice, satisfied feeling. The author doesn't overlook any detail, and once I got going, I had a hard time putting it down. It has some really good twists that I didn't see coming.
