This book changed my life. There is absolutely no deficit in me, despite what people and "friends" have told me. None. And none in anyone else with ADD. I and others like myself merely subscribe to a different way of thinking than the majority of people. This book gave me a much more healthy attitude towards looking at what kind of person I and others with the "Hunter" mentality really are. And what great things we are really capable of.
So many "Farmer" parents and teachers are unaware that by labeling these kids defective (face it-deficit is not a positive term) ruining their self-esteem and ability to thrive as who they are which is highly innovative, flexible, creative problem solvers able to think quickly on their feet in wonderfully non-linear ways.
In a world dominated by the "Farmer" mentality which is much more comfortable in routine, repetitive daily routines, seeing the world in the way that is (not in the way it could be as "Hunters" do) it is easy to see why we don't always understand how different in good ways that each of us are. Read the book. If you are a parent, a teacher, a person who thinks you have a "deficit", it will totally change what you think you think.
