In 1965, then Lieutenant Colonel Robinson Risner was shot down on a bombing mission over North Vietnam. During his seven years in Hoa Lo Prison, the "Hanoi Hilton," he was sunjected to the most brutal tortures and suffered almost every imaginable deprivation, as his captors tried to break him and use him for propaganda.
