Okay I was a huge fan girl for the first Rat Queens book and this book doesnt disappoint. I got this to review through NetGalley (and I was super super excited to get it). This book is full of just as much wonderful adventure fantasy, dirty jokes, and kicking butt as the first Rat Queens book was.

The Rat Queens are recovering from the blow-out of a party in the last book when something truly evil threatens the city of Palisade. Giant tentacles have descended from the sky and are making the Palisade residents relive pieces of their past. Also Sawyer has been kidnapped and Hannah will stop at nothing to save him (even though theyve been a bit on again, off again as a couple).

I love everything about this series. The illustration is amazing, the high fantasy setting is spectacular, and the Rat Queens are just all that. This is an adult graphic novel series; there is a butt load of swearing, quite a bit of nudity and lots of substance abuse...but its all in good fun.

There are some pretty awesome parts in this installment. We get to see Hannah rescue the love of her life (maybe); it was great to see the damsel being the one doing the rescuing. We also get some great back story on the Rat Queens. My favorite back story followed Violet and the events in her life that ended with her joining the Rat Queens. I also really enjoyed seeing someone show up from Dees past as well.

There is a ton of action in here and a lot of story. My only complaint would be that when the tentacles attack they make the characters flash back into their past; this was kind of confusing until I figured out what was going on.

Overall this was another absolutely spectacular issue of Rat Queens. This is my favorite graphic novel series right now. I love the art, I love the characters, and I love the story. I would recommend to fantasy fans who enjoy strong female leads and dont mind their fantasy dirty and gritty.
