I have to admit I trudged through the first few chapters thinking I was not going to like this book. However, I suddenly became engrossed in the endearing life of a young woman struggling to overcome the natural selfishness we all share, and learn to live life to its fullest by giving to others. Katherine is an easy girl to relate to, meaning that when she learns a hard lesson, you do as well.

The book starts when Katherine is 16 and decides it is about time she devote herself to writing a journal about her life. Follow Katherine as she grows into womanhood.

A beautifully written book by Elizabeth Prentiss, one that every girl and woman should read.
