Being a child who survived physical abuse myself from a step-father,I was able to relate with the abuse that the author endured. His abuse was more severe than mine but it helped me realize that I had to be strong for my own children and break the chain so to speak. Every mother and father should read this book to recognize "symptoms" of abuse so they can recognize when a child is in danger....
