Cam was the speed-chasing playboy and Ethan the taciturn waterman. But former street hustler Philip Quinn was the stylish city dweller who took one look at Dr. Sybill Griffin and fell hard. Sybill made her mark in observational psychology, always ten paces back from the action. This time Philip wont let her avoid the fray. He finds Sybill attractive in ways he refuses to admit. When her relationship to his brother Seth is uncovered, Philip must reconcile his needs and hers with those of Seth. This final novel in the Quinn Brothers trilogy is equally as strong as the prior two (e.g., Rising Tides, Audio Reviews, LJ 11/1/98). Guy Lemonier is terrific at vocalizing Philip and particularly Sybill, whose cold, unemotional facade gives frosty new meaning. Roberts is at her best here, from the multifaceted characterizations to the carefully crafted plot twists. This, and the other titles in the series, are excellent additions to fiction collections.
