"America's answer to Ruth Rendell" according to the book jacket, and they are right. Carol O'Connell is a great writer, and her Mallory books are addictive. She is one of the most interesting female detectives, and characters, going. It's better to start somewhere near the beginning - jumping right into this without background isn't nearly as much fun, but it's still an excellent mystery. In this one, juror's on a controversial trial are being murdered one by one, and a nasty shock jock is making it worse. Great read.
