This is a thought-provoking novel about the murder of a young girl and the effects it has on her immediate family. The story is loosely based on the Jon Benet Ramsey murder case from Colorado in the 1990's. It is told from the point of view of the older brother and how his sister affects his life, both before and after her death. Joyce Carol Oates is a great writer and keeps the reader constantly guessing as to "whodunit"; rest assured the book resolves the criminal case nicely.
