I have read all of Melanie Bowles books and have found each of them so readable. The Dogs of Proud Spirit is as good and well written as the rest of them. I have laughed and cried through all of them. She has such a talent for telling her stories and making them come to life. She was first a cat person but as time went on, and they came across dogs that were thrown away, she just couldn't help but become a dog person also. I loved these books and if you are an animal lover, you will too.
