Lieutenant Eve Dallas is back, this time to track down a murderer who has escaped from an insane asylum, and whom Eve was responsible for capturing three years earlier. His intended victim list is short and specific; he's targeting all those responsible for his capture, with Eve as the final prize. Susan Ericksen captures the characters nicely, including the Irish-accented Roarke, Eve's husband. She reads with brisk pacing, appropriate emotion, and enough passion to satisfy listeners who are fans of the series.
