Book Review of The Making of a Nurse

The Making of a Nurse

I am not a nurse, I have never wanted to be a nurse. Okay, maybe when I was very young and before I learned I had to cleanup other people's body fluids. With that said, this book was wonderful and truly made me appreciate every happy, grumpy, rushed, or patient nurse I have ever encountered. Ms. Shalof tells her personal story of how she began life as a caretaker and has chosen such a profession. There are so many funny stories, you will enjoy her days as a camp nurse. Many will relate to the concept of "helicopter parents". She relates stories from her time in a hospital in Tel Aviv, Irael. This is a book that emcompasses taking care of sick parents; crying and homesick campers; the sickest patients in a Israeli hospital to coming full circle in her current position as a intensive care nurse.
