I've actually purchased the paperback of this book twice- I loaned the first copy out so many times that it eventually disappeared.

I don't usually care for Linda Howard because grim FBI thrillers aren't my favorite. This is not a grim FBI thriller- it is one of the funniest books I've ever read.

Blair Mallory owns and runs a gym called Great Bods. One day a very unpopular member's membership comes up for renewal. Since there were complaints, she is not allowed to renew, and throws a temper tantrum. When Blair leaves work that night, she sees the obnoxious client (who's been copying Blair's every last thing, from glistening body lotion, to hair color, to driving a white convertible) outside waiting for her. Someone shoots the copy cat, and the police then become involved. Problem is: Did the murderer kill the wrong woman? Did he mean to kill Blair?

Blair Mallory uses whatever she has available to her best advantage- so she'll happily play a blonde bimbo if that's what works with the police. However, she's very smart, practical, and doesn't take guff from anyone. I found it hilariously funny. I enjoyed it, and the sequel, "Drop Dead Gorgeous" very much indeed.

Cheers,

Constance
