A fun book about Willy (of "Willy the Wimp" fame) and his friendship with Hugh Jape (say it out loud). Willy and Hugh are friends even though they're different. Willy reads to Hugh and Hugh protects Willy from some bullies, so their friendship is a little unbalanced, but still mutually acceptable.
The drawings are wonderful, with each primate hair meticulously drawn in. The expressions on the faces of the characters are wonderfully human, yet still monkey-like, if that makes sense. The pictures are better than the story, as is often the case with children's books, but the story is still pretty darn good.
