What an amazing cast of characters! First you have Kate. Snarky, mysterious, sometimes clueless, always in the thick of things whether she wants to be or not. Then, of course, there is Curran. Intelligent, aloof, inscrutable. And, don't forget Atlanta. Yes, the city itself is an important character. I love that!
I've been reading a lot more "dark" books lately - this one did not disappoint! The setting, the unusual take on vampires and zombies, the shapeshifters, the necromancers - all add to the overall mood of the book. Why did I wait so long to find these books and read them? I honestly don't know..... I will be reading the rest of the series, and hopefully sooner rather than later.
