Very good book once you get used to the writing techniques of jumping ahead in time and then back. Year 1 to year 19 got a little confusing and truth be told didn't make a lot of sense. I finally just ignored the years and read it as a continuous storyline. The premise of taming a wolf cub to be the "first dog" is the prominent story line and it goes along a t a decent pace. One peculiarity in writing styles that seems out of place is the use of latin phrases in some text and the modern terms we use being attributed to the tribes. All in all a good book and it ended at a point that a sequel could be easily written.
