Follow-up to the splendid "Good Old Stuff," a paperbook filled with the early John-D-Mac short stories and novelettes that built his delightful style, long before Travis McGee was invented. I believe this is the one which contains two stories that LED to T-McGee: the character is rough, one-dimensional, and not nearly as lovable as McGee, but you can see the flickers there clearly. This is a "can't go wrong" for MacDonald fans. 5 stars. --Jim
