In the "Afterword" Michelle Moran indicates that the content of the book parallels history to a large degree. However, "some liberties have been taken with personalities, names and minor events." I found the story to be engaging. I found it hard to put down, especially the second half. The main characters were portrayed with specific detail. Descriptions of costumes and the Egyptian environment were vivid. I highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction.
