The first third of the book started with a bang; a riveting story about Zane and Brett, two frightened, verbally and physically abused children of upscale well respected parents. Their story was disturbing and heartbreaking but came to a satisfying closure early on.

The second third as we fast forward in time, repetitive talk about landscaping and gardening from the new gal in town who caught Zane's heart, was boring and tedious.

The last third was suspenseful but unsurprising and too predictable. However, I guess I'm a romantic at heart and I did enjoy this book.
