I really enjoyed this book, in fact I read it all in one sitting, it was that good! The protagonist is Maddy, she's an Agent of Death who sprouts black wings and escorts souls to Death's Door. Whether they choose it or not, is up to them, if not they are forever tied to the Earth as a ghost and that's a lot of paper work! Helping make ends meet, Maddy agrees to let in handsome Gabriel as a tenant. He turns out to be sent by her Father, whose a high up Fallen Angel. This is the catalyst to an epic battle between previous unknown family members versus Maddy and her long suppressed powers. It used to just be her and her pet/guardian gargoyle. Now she has to figure out who is trying to kill her, why and stop them. Aided by Gabriel it's an action packed ride!

For those concerned: there is no sex (only a bit of tension), foul language is scarce, gore is only prevalent in physical descriptions of people. The action is pretty intense though, and the religious pantheon is Catholic including Nephilim and Angels.
