Lt. Eve Dallas is called on to look into the murder of Natalie Cooperfield and her fiancé Bick Byson. Both of them worked at a well-known accounting firm. As Eve delves into the murders, her friend Mavis asks her to find a missing person. Tandy Willowby has vanished without a trace. Mavis knows her from their birthing classes. Tandy is due any day, but nobody has seen her since she left work two days ago. Now Eve, Roarke, Peabody, and McNab are hard at work on both cases.
This is the 23rd book in the long-running In Death series and it's still going strong. There are two mysteries in this book. Both were engrossing. As usual, the dialogue was lively and there were some very funny scenes. I loved the fact that Mavis talked Eve and Roarke into being her birthing coaches. Both were horrified at the thought of being in the delivery room. My rating: 5 Stars.
