Finlay Donovan owes Russian mob boss Feliks Zhirov after he bought the car she stole. Now he wants Finlay to find a contract killer named EasyClean who is trying to blackmail Feliks. This is the same person who tried to kill Finlay's ex-husband Steven. Finlay believes that EasyClean may be a current or former cop. So, when she hears about the week-long citizen's police academy, Finlay and her nanny/accountant Vero sign-up. This is their chance to talk to several local cops who are high on their suspect list. It also gives Vero a place to hide out since people from her past are hunting her.
The third book in the Finlay Donovan series is another wild ride. It took me a few chapters to remember exactly what happened in the previous book; but once I did, it was easy to slip back into Finlay's world. The Citizen's police academy is run by Detective Nick Anthony, the guy Finlay has been avoiding for a couple of weeks. He has asked her out, but she knows she has to keep her distance, or he will discover her illegal activities.
This book had the right amount of mystery, romance, and screw-ball comedy. The end of the story sets up the next book nicely. Can't wait to read more of Finlay and Vero's adventures. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
