This was a main selection of the Literary Guild and the Times said it was tautly exciting. I found it a one-nighter.

Peter and Rina Decker are delighted with their newborn baby girl, but the scene at the Los Angeles hospital is a nightmare. Budget cutbacks and staff shortages so compromise security in the nursery that Peter, the ever-anxious cop worries about his family's safety. Then a baby is kidnapped and a respected nurse vanishes along with her.
