Rarely has a book moved me the way Home Another Way did. Definitely a book that is not easy to put down, and leaves the reader wanting more.

The characters were real and believable - certainly not as "pretty" as one might like to read about. But that is what makes this book such a delight to read.

Sarah is a self-loathing young girl who has suffered great hurts in her life. She ends up in the small mountain community where her father lived before his death. Since she was completely broke and had nowhere to turn, she found Jonah in hopes of collecting an inheritance and be on her way of continued self-destruction.

Instead, she has a 6 month "layover" and begins to experience true love in action, despite her attempts to push everyone away with her less-than-likable attitude.

This is not a story that ends in "happily ever after", with all the loose ends tied up in a neat little package.

But it IS a story where a girl who is seeking (without even knowing), finds answers and the real truth, and deals with it as only Sarah could.

I learned to love each of the characters in this story - despite their own quirks and simple lifestyles. I wanted the story to go on and on. I laughed and cried - in fact, cried a lot.

As I finished the last page, I was first angry that Parrish did not go further with the story. But as I've pondered the story more, I realize it was ended perfectly. The point was not to follow the life of Sarah.

To me, the point was that if we seek, we will find. God is always working and putting people in our lives to allow us to become all we can be. No matter how broken we are, God can take those pieces and create a new masterpiece.

Highly recommend this book to anyone - christian or not. Perhaps a non-christian or one who has strayed from God could relate to this story even better. Chase this book down and read it. I promise you will not be disappointed!
