In a way this is a 'Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe' for older kids, a YA book. A naïve teen is suddenly faced with the fact that magic and things that go bump in the night really exist and that some of those things are exactly the opposite of sweetness and light.

FROM BACK COVER:
Kerry Proffit is having a pretty relaxing summer. She's working at a resort on the California coast, staying in a sweet summer share with five friends. Everything is going great until Kerry discovers a mysterious stranger lying half-dead on their doorstep- so much for relaxing. -- His name is Daniel Blessing and aside from being quite attractive in a dark, smoky way, he happens to be on the hunt for a witch named Season. That's right a witch - and a seriously powerful one at that. Of course Kerry and her friends don't believe in witches. But Kerry is beginning to believe in Daniel - and her feelings for him.
Whether they like it or not, these six teens are stuck in the middle of a deadly feud, and it will not be easy for them to return to their ordinary lives....Some won't even get the chance
