Thankfully it was a snow day when I picked this up and dinner was already bubbling in the crock pot, because once I started this book I didn't put it down. Other reviewers have summarized the plot points really well, so I'll just say it was nice to have a regular gal kind of heroine who was scared while rising to the challenges thrown at her. It felt like a superhero story for grown-ups with noble good guys and monstrous baddies, and my only regret is that I didn't order book two when I requested book one!
