MacKayla Lane received a life changing call one afternoon telling her that her sister was murdered in Dublin. Weeks go by and Mac's family was notified that the case had no leads and was being sent to a different division (i.e. the filing cabinet). Mac decides to head to Dublin to put pressure on the police and in doing so is thrown into a whole new world, one she thought only existed in horror stories and fairy tales.

MacKayla learns that she is a sidhe-seer and can see Fae. She can also sense Fae Objects of Power (OOPS for short). A mysterious man, named Jericho Barrons, gives her a safe place to live and a job, but she must help him with finding what she seeks also, the Sinsar Dubh - a powerful book created by the Unseelie King that is said to describe the making of the fae. In their search, Mac comes against many foes and learns a bit about herself.

I really enjoyed this book and it has become one of my favorite series. Mac transforms from this colorful, Southern girl that's STSL, to someone who is not all sunshine and rainbows. She is on a mission to find her sister's killer and nothing will stop her.
