Charlotte and Stuart are two of the most enchanting characters I have read about in a long time. In the beginning they antagonize each other relentlessly. This, of course, changes to attraction which inevitably gets them caught up in solving the mystery of Charlotte's ward's disappearance. Instead of a libertine, Stuart shows himself to be a caring, honorable man. There are also tons of family secrets. A most enjoyable read.
