Much darker than the Jane Austen series, and it took me until about Chapter Ten before I was completely hooked. Set in the Victorian Era (not my own personal favorite), duplicity and suspicion motivate all but the idealistic protagonists, FitzGerald and Armistead. Good will out with plenty of untied loose ends for sequels, I will once again await Stephanie Barron's next installments!
