You will either love this book or hate it. I don't think there is any middle ground. I did not like it at all. It's written as the ramblings of a young child in the South with many compound sentences and paragraphs. It would be as if you were actually hearing her tell the story to you - which is my main point. This would be great as an audio book or narration in person. On paper, it is confusing, difficult to read and follow. In the end I wasn't sure why I read this book. It left me with nothing. None of the humor or wit I was expecting. It wasn't even entertaining. The only thing I learned is that the shrimping community had a lot of problems with Game Wardens. Again, what is the point of this memoir?

Other readers (on Amazon) loved this book, especially those in the Southern area.

I wish I hadn't wasted the time on this book.
