Read the true story of Porter Rockwell in this exciting biographical novel series by best-selling biographer, Richard Lloyd Dewey. A strong story holds reader interest, as history comes alive. (For adults and teens alike.) Dynamite initial volume of the series is historical fiction at its best accurate, engrossing, and filled with adventure and humor. Based on solid research from the author s best-selling biography, Dewey proves himself a capable novelist as well as best-selling biographer. Volume 1 begins with Rockwell s childhood years in New York where he becomes close friends with the future Latter-day Saint prophet Joseph Smith. The story continues through Porter s settlement with the Saints in Missouri, fighting against mobs and falling in love. Readers witness the engaging yet humorous courtship with a young woman he meets and is determined to marry. Porter proves himself in friendship and loyalty to his neighbors, and even as a teen becomes their protector. In a surprise move, the young woman he loves agrees to marry him.

I read this whole book at least once and Porter fits more a criminal man than a servant of God. His death is an interesting end.
